10 Types of Lubricants & How to Use Them

Slip and slide into the best sex you've ever had.

In this sizzling guide, we’re spilling the beans on not just one, not two, but drumroll please…TEN different types of lubricants and how to use them like a pro. Oh yes, we’re leaving no stone unturned, or shall we say, no area un-lubricated. Cue playful giggle.

From water-based wonders to silicone sensations and even the unexpected delights of natural oils, we’re exploring the slippery spectrum of lubes that cater to every intimate desire and need. We’ll help you navigate the ins and outs (pun intended) like a seasoned pro, so you can fully embrace your sexual explorations with confidence and pleasure.

1: Hybrid

These are thicker gels that transform into lube. Typically, they are water-based with a bit of silicone but only a little. The benefits of hybrid lubes are that they can be used with latex, are hypoallergenic, and are pH balanced for my concerned ladies.

2: Water-based

This is the only lube that should be used inside a vagina. It washes off easily and is suitable for any sex toy. It can also be less expensive than other types.

3: Silicone-based

Ironically, silicone lube should NOT be used with silicone toys. It can be used in water and typically lasts longer than water-based lube. Silicone lube does need soap and water to be washed off properly.

4: Oil-based

This type is suitable for male masturbation.

5: Flavored

This type is fantastic for oral sex. Some brands taste delicious and make the experience even more enjoyable. Also, it doesn’t contain sugar, so you don’t have to feel bad about using it.

6: Warming

This can come in water or silicone-based lube. While it heightens sexual pleasure for some, it can irritate others.

7: Anal

This type is typically water-based and able to be used with latex. The best part is it was specifically created for anal play.

8: Saliva

This is an all-natural lubricant that is typically safe for all forms of sex and areas of the body

9: Massage oils

This should only be used for males when masturbating or on a woman’s body (not inside the body).

10: Creams or lotions

This should only be used for males when masturbating or on a woman’s body (not inside the body).
